Course example: Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

During the course, the students in groups of no more than 2 get to work with webshop management and the online activities involved. The course consists of 3 modules, whereby the students apply the theory in the assigned webshops.

Traffic-Increase

The three modules are as follows:

  1. Module: Digital Analysis (through Google Analytics)
  2. Module: Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  3. Module: Search Engine Advertising Module (SEA)

Search Engine Marketing is the student’s second introduction to online and digital marketing this time focussing on getting visitors to their websites. 

Theory and Practice

In collaboration with our business partner “Hobbygigant”, webshops have been created for students where students can sell real articles. Although the shop-URLs and site-designs are different, students all sell the same products. The student manual describes, among other things, the registration procedure and rules.
In the course, students develop theoretical and practical skills that can be used immediately in an internship or in business.

Course example: Conversion Optimization

During the course, the students in groups of no more than 2 get to work with webshop management and the online activities involved. The course consists of modules whereby the students apply the theory in the assigned webshops.

Conversion Optimization

The four modules are as follows:

  1. Module: How to improve the probability of the visitor taking desired actions
  2. Module: What the importance of Call2Action is
  3. Module: How to apply Cialdini’s Persuasion theory to your website
  4. Module: How to A/B test and measure your results

In the previous course: ‘Search Engine Marketing’, the students learned to generate traffic to their website. In the course ‘Conversion Optimization’, students can turn these site visitors into customers.
